Ms. Marquez
I am born and raised in Chicago from Mexican parents. My mother has likes to tell people that I was born ready to be a teacher. As a 20-year veteran teacher, I think I would agree with her.
I graduated from the Chicago Public Schools with honors and went to DePaul University for my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I also have two Masters degrees and I'm proud to say that I feel that I use everything I've learned and studied every single day. I remember telling my professors in college, "I just want to get out there and start teaching!" My passion is in bilingual education and second language learning. Most people don't know that in my free time, I like to scrapbook, make cards, sew, cook, bake, dance, go to the gym, listen to pod-casts, and spend time with people I love. I also enjoy watching paranormal shows and biographical programs about psychology (Hoarders, Intervention, etc.). My students and my purpose for teaching inspire me to come to work everyday. I love to see their progress and am grateful for the respect and trust they have in me. Moreover, I'm blessed to work with colleagues who are understanding, sincere, trusting, and open-minded. I wouldn't have it any other way. |
