I was born and raised in the southwest side of Chicago. I am Mexican-American. I am bilingual. I speak Spanish fluently. I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters. My favorite hobby is spending time with my family. We enjoy reading together and family night. Since a young child, I dreamed of being an educator. I decided to pursue a career in elementary education when I began to volunteer in my daughter’s pre-school class. I enjoyed being part of the learning environment. Education is the most rewarding career anyone can have. Following my dreams, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My concentration is in Latin American and Latino Studies. I completed student teaching here in Azuela Elementary. I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach the Azuela community. I am fortunate to have the career of my dreams. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” -Nelson Mandela
