Saludos! I am Patricia Orozco-Rosas, daughter of Mexican immigrants (originally from Michoacan, Mexico), who instilled in me the love of culture and engrained in me the ideals of resiliency, compassion and the importance of giving back to my community. With a journalism degree in hand, I decided I wanted to do more to change the world than just write about it. Culture plays an important part of my identity. So, I became a teacher. I have been a teacher of bilingual students since 2006 and every year, I learn something new. Needless to say, I found my calling! I began my teaching career as an ESL teacher in Uptown, where most of my students were newcomers from various African countries, Guatemala, and Mexico. Throughout my career at Azuela, I've taught 3rd, 4th grade and have recently embarked on an exciting adventure in first grade!
