​My name is Maria D. Castillo. I grew up in Guanajuato, Mexico and moved to Chicago, IL when I was 11 years old. I am married and have two sons, a daughter and a dog. I enjoy learning about cultures and spending time with my family. I have always believed that education is an essential part of a person’s life that provides knowledge and skills to succeed. Therefore, I decided to become a teacher and be part of the children’s journey. I am very excited to be part of Azuela, La Casa de los Aztecas!
